    To use Skype you do need to have your PC on all the time.

    You'll need your PC on alright,
    USB to RJ11 meaning you connect it to a USB port on your PC and then connect your DECT phone to the RJ11 port.

    Handy if you want it once it awhile but if its longterm unless you actually leave your pc on 24/7 for other things its going to be a awful waste of electricity'

    Sorry for going off on a tangent but I wonder how much electricity it costs to run a router and ATA 24/7.

    No where near as much to be leaving a pc and router running 24/7.

    It would be a cold day in hell when it even comes close to a router/ata combination.
