Does anyone know if this is possible on VoIP? I've been looking for references on the web but can't seem to find anything.

It's possible to send SMSs using Asterisk
Blueface use Asterisk so it's possible - but afaik they haven't implemented it. And it's in the implementation that the possible often becomes the PITAssible.
It's also possible to send/receive SMSs from Skype.

Thanks for the link Causal, lots of info there! It would be a nice feature to have but I guess its not that important.

Pretty nifty expecially if you've a portable device with wireless net access.
