She also lied and said that her friend worked for Liveline. It was great when the Hotel manager read out her threatening email.

that is bizzare!! How is it the Hotels fault that her guests would prefer to go to the game than her wedding?!

Might be a good time for the groom to do a runner - imagine being shackled to that plank for the rest of your days

Maybe it's a good crystal-ball indicator for the broom - although he must be aware at this stage...

Eh, you're not losing anything. You've already paid the money, it's gone. The hotel isn't charging them anything extra for the missing guests.

Cheek of her having a whinge looking for a last-minute refund because some of her guests are bit ****.

At least they told her they won't be coming. Wonder how she'll feel about the no shows on the day, which also happens.

I wonder are they worried about the guests who are not going not giving them a few quid in an envelope and they're trying to make that back by asking the hotel for a discount?

He is one of the ones who can't attend because he's off to watch a Gaelic match....

I'm glad she was called out on the national airwaves. The hotel isn't at fault so you still pay what was agreed. Lying tramp.

They should bin her contract for bad faith, resell the date as a cancellation. Everyone happy. Oh except her. Bint.

Providing doggy bags might be a compromise...

    Not Defending her one bit,

but I presume, in her mind at least, she is loosing money as the 16 guest that are not showing are unlikely to give the "present" in cash to cover her costs.

This is in no way the hotels issue as she booked for the numbers she wanted.

Is there a link to her letter to read??

It was probably a different package. Like 120 guests for €8,000 Or 120-150 for €10,000 Or something like that. They chose the higher package and now realised they could have chosen the cheaper package.

She should just invite more peopel, I'm sure there was culls along the way. Bump up some of the couples invited to the afters.

Are people expected to give cash anyway. Whatever happened to the dinner service etc?

Even if they had agreed to it, it wouldn't have been out of the goodness of their hearts, it would have been because of threatened exposure on the radio. I wouldn't want to have my wedding in a hotel I'd manipulated into giving me money back in case they f*cked up my reception. I can't imagine the staff being willing to go above and beyond for a couple who behaved like that. I'd be worried the waiter would drop a plate on my lap and ruin my dress, the food would be crap, etc. So she must be very brazen to say she pursued threatening the hotel with these eventualities in mind.

Regardless, the hotel were completely in the right and she looks like an idiot. I'd feel very awkward showing up to my reception if I were that couple. Delighted the hotel didn't give in to the pressure and she didn't get her money back.

The hotel could be 125pp depending on the package they chose.. ive heard of hotels being dearer!

I highly doubt any hotels do wedding rates at 25pp! More likely the hotel meal costs that per person!

The Cost of the meal would be closer to €50 than €25. Then there's prob half bottle of wine €15, still way off €125 package mark she's claiming she's paying.

    The lifeboat has set sail

Wait- so the wedding hasn't even happened yet!??
    Holy fcuk!
She has some neck going on national radio mouthing about the hotel who has yet to cater for her wedding, not refunding her money through no fault of theirs.
    Awkward

The in laws are probably mortified. Should result in some interesting speeches.

She's completely in the wrong! She's not losing any money at all! The legal contract she signed says minimum 130, she paid for 130! Not hotels fault at all!
People are crazy when it comes to weddings!!

With modern weddings nothing would surprise me.

Horrible, fake nonsense that seem to drag on forever that I avoid like the bubonic plague.
