Can someone post a speed test on meteor 4g data please?

I signed up for a Vodafone deal and I and many others assumed be much better speeds.

So I'm curious to see what speeds meteor are giving

Those speeds are 4 times what most of us are getting on this thread

    What deal are you on?

I'm on the sim only RED Connect 12 Month plan.

I just got another phone (iPhone 6s) that's on the VodafoneX plan and they got over 100mb.

    That's still not bad.

I don't got those speeds everywhere though, in other locations around the city I might get between 40 - 60mb.

Non coverage is another issue, just outside Maynooth the other day and couldn't get any data.

Ive a feeling they are restricting the speeds, hopefully someone posts meteor speed test now

What phone are you using ?

I know Vodafone are using band 20 (800mhz) for 4G in some rural areas and not all phone will work with this, for example the iPhone 5.

Huawei Ascend G7, says it works on band 20

Don't think that phone supports LTE advanced which is cat 6 and above.

That would probably explain the speed difference but wouldn't account for non coverage.

    HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE Cat4 150/50 Mbps

At CAT4 you can peak at 130Mb or so (Ive seen it) but the cell has to be really really empty. CAT6+ devices will benefit from "4G+" features (using two cells at once) in built up areas.

Chances are Jeff just lives in a busier area. Im on a micro cell so get great speeds while 100m you would be on a main cell for the area which is a lot slower.

People complain Vodafone are expensive, but with speeds like that you see where your money goes.
