    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

2560x1600 screen, which is very impressive for this sort of money!

Hmm.. mixed reviews and an old version of Android. Not sure whether to take the punt

EDIT: .. just did. Videos on YouTube of it running Cyanogenmod 12 (Android 5.1) and for €80 it'll be a decent movie player/eBook reader and general browser if nothing else

Yeah, lovely hardware but limited roms, old binaries. Reading forums / dev blog looks like CM12 still has incomplete bluetooth, no tunnel support for VPN, instability and sleep of death bug. CM12 hasn't been updated in 12 months so inlikely to be fixed either.

So two days with it now I'm well impressed
Only downside I can see is the recharge time but you'd charge overnight anyway
Screen is crisp and clear although I've seen better colour reproduction
Sound is amazing best I've heard on a tablet
Netfix other streaming sites work great.
I don't do a lot of gaming but diamond digger saga works well
    Bluetooth works great
YouTube app is OK not great

How much storage space did you have when you fired it up? Was there much/any bloat installed?

How long is it taking you to charge it? What's the battery life like in real-world use?

Any stuttering or lock-ups when browsing media-heavy websites etc?

    Think about 12 gb.
    No bloat at all
9 hours to charge but that's normal with this.
    Overnight
Only been using now and again but it's 9 hours according to reviews

Stutter a little on YouTube but none elsewhere

    I just pulled the trigger.
Was looking for a cheap tablet for my 4 year old.
Lucky kid! Thomas the Tank Engine never looked so good.

Ridiculous, what kind of spec you can get for peanuts these days.
    2560 x 1600 for a 4 year old...

PS Anyone actually given the CM12 a go?

Tempted. The old version of android is putting me off. It probably shouldn't since I don't really use my tablet for anything other than browsing and using Kodi.

Mine arrived with a dead screen last week..!

Sending it back to Amazon for a refund - it wasn't sold by them directly, so a replacement is not possible :(
