Could be a good idea for anyone interested to keep everything on the one thread.

Plenty of feeds on Sundays so far on 23.5 East for TG4. It is possible to see their live game and the one they defer in HD. Also feeds in English for RTE highlights later.

Unfortunately some feeds are using a codec which cannot be cleared by sat boxes, even those which can do 4:2:2. Usually they have the 15000 symbol rate. I think the codec is AVC or H264 AVC. They can be viewed on some computer card receivers like the TBS 5925 which I have.

No Setanta Saturday night FTA feeds until tonight, Cavan v Down. Not strong signals due to the weather. Tyrone Derry is encrypted on 7 East.

    Eutelsat 10A (10.0°E)

    Frequency: 11153 - Pol: H - SR: 6111 - FEC: -

    Category: Sport - Autres

    Transmitted in: MPEG-2 4:2:0 (PAL)

Yes this feed has two premix audio feeds. One with Marty and the other just the crowd noise.

As I mentioned in the first post TG4 are using this type of H264 feed for the last while. None of the normal receivers including the AzBox can decode them. I can get the picture with my TBS 5925 USB receiver but it freezes and breaks up all the time. There is some discussion on the subject here. Apparently if I had a better video card in my PC it would be possible to watch.

Re the computer, although a fast computer is required to play high bitrate video, particularly the 4.2.2 stuff and H264 stuff, the video card in the computer is more important than the speed of the computer. You need to find a video card that will do hardware acceleration on HD video, particularly H264

I am also reading that H265 is on the way so that could change a lot of things for feeds.

Can a normal satellite box pick that up? Or would it be encrypted?

As per the title of the thread everything posted here is Free To Air (FTA).

But your satellite dish has to point to whatever satellite the feed is coming from, Astra 3 at 23.5 East in this case. Most people with an interest in feeds will have a motorised dish.

As per Dxhound. Any DVb-S2 satellite receiver will pick this up.

Normal domestic dishes point at 28.2. This is just a click or two to the right if standing behind the dish.

I reckon you might even get these particular feeds with a 60cm Sky dish. I use a 110cm motorised and it is very strong.

No sign of anything yet on satelliweb, I'm after watching the 6 O'Clock news, and there's no report from either ground, so not looking too good

First feed of the Championship. Channel name RTE DL V TYR DIRTY. Fairly strong 10.5 dB. Showing recorded footage, studio, and a long view of the Minor game.

I don't know what is going on here. It is a feed with a rerun of the RTE coverage of Donegal Tyrone. Channel name IERTE Tx1. I never saw anything like this before.

Not HD, 720x576i25. Weak signal 8 dB / 50%. I can see the picture on the AzBox receiver because it is 4:2:2.

Strange alright. Why wouldnt they have been recording the live and clean feeds back at base anyhow.

Can tell you one thing though, the resolution you have just posted is the NIMM output broadcast resolution.

    I'm not finding it either.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,793 ✭✭✭✭dxhound2005

Fairly strong 10.5 dB on Dr HD, 65% on Azbox. Dr HD says FEC 2/3. AzBox, Enigma 2 says 3/4. 8PSK Pilot ON.

    Westmeath vs Meath 2.00pm
    Dublin vs Kildare 4.00pm

A move to Thor today 0.8W according to satelliteweb

    Frequency: 11490 - Pol: V - SR: 7120

Although I cant get it myself, despite having 75% on Sky News.... motor off despite tweaking.

    Weird. Anyone else ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,138 ✭✭✭snaps

Got it here in Southern Poland. Thor is my strongest position including Nordic beam, usually giving 100% 100%. But this is weak. Still coming in. 8PSK 3/4 FEC

That one is channel name Croke Park Clean, 11.5 dB with me. There is also Croke Park Dirty 11503 V 14250, 10.8 dB.

I get 17 dB on Sky News on Dr HD receiver, 100% signal on AzBox.

Edit: I didn't see Snaps reply before I posted.

All 3 feeds from Croke Park (and not reported on Satelliteweb ;))

    23.5E

    Croke Park Dirty : 11585 H 14250 DVB-S2
    357134.jpg

    Croke Park Clean : 11595 H 7120 DVB-S2
    357135.jpg

    Croke Park High Behind: 11608 H 7120 DVB-S2
    357136.jpg

Difference between the clean and dirty feed is the RTE on Screen Graphics. 3 audio streams on each. 1: Commentary & Crowd Mix, 2: Crowd only, 3: Commentary, No Crowd.
