Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You are highly unlikely to find someone who has had a child in both schools and can fairly compare.

The home will be the biggest influence on the child's education anyway- perhaps your friend can visit both schools and make a decision based on that? Otherwise pick the one she ends up living nearest.

I'd look at an area that has a good catchment for secondary schools. Also, terenure is quite a sought after area so schools in area are quite full . She'd want to check that out too.
Primary school education is pretty much the same wherever you go .

I'd pick Terenure over Lucan provided that it is actually Terenure and not Crumlin.

Aye, I think its can be a case of 'consider the secondary first'. Not the biggest major factor but you wouldnt want to be having to move house again just to parachute into what you think might be a better school in 6th class.

We turned down 2 fairly 'good' schools (i would have taught their children in secondary) and went for the 'mystery prize'. It was partly based on gut feeling walking around the school with the Principal (and the hassle of having to move elsewhere). Not many parents have that option now though if their child is starting this September though.
