Thank you very, very, very much. Just reserved enough oil to service my car every year for the next 4 years! Btw, if anyone has an axa card you get a further 10% off the price.

What's the difference in Opel/Saab 5w30 and the vw/Audi 5w30? I assume there is no difference bar the price?

  • Registered Users Posts: 114 ✭✭corazon

The Audi 5w30 doesn't seem to be on sale. If the oil is fully synthetic it should be the same oil I think. I reserved eight litres but it says it is for mercedes. I guess I will check in the store with the staff.

What oil do I need for a 2004 mark 1 focus.
The link in the OP for Ford says it's suitable for 2006 onwards but makes no mention of earlier models?

Some of the ratchet spanners now coming in at less than €3 also - might be handy if you're missing one, esp. a common size like this.

    http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_160002_langId_-1_categoryId_212616

Watch out for the difference between the straight head and flex head ones

EDIT: Sorry, Forget it, when you go to "Click and Collect" they're hardly available anywhere

If only they sold in 5ltr bottles!

I reserved a few bottles the other day and just out of curiosity checked if they have more stock - they don't. Does it still mean that the ones I reserved they still have for me ?

Picked up my oil in Swords this afternoon. The guy on the parts desk said they had gotten a huge amount delivered due to online orders. He said one order was for 40 bottles. Wasn't able to get another 10% off with my Axa card though.

Picked up my 4 bottles this evening, €32.40 with axa discount. Whoever sold it to you was wrong. Halfords have always honoured the axa card, even on their sale prices. (Btw, Coolock still have a huge supply inside the door)

Is the car not still under warranty? I would be more concerned with staying within the dealer network if it is.

picked up 2 bottles myself plus 10% off with the Bicycle group scheme voucher - already have 2 mobil1 bottles that were half price..so next 4 services sorted

Same thing as Comma Oils provide the oil and halfords just rebrand it.

I wouldn't be changing my own oil if the car is still under warranty is what I meant. It's an easy out for the manufacturer if there is a claim.

Is this still available in Airside Halfords?
Do you need to order online and pickup at the shop?
