    Very nice.

Buy for €400-450, tax for 3 months for €500 and flog it for bits afterwards. Free luxury motoring for a few months. I had a Jag for about 4 months in the 90's, expensive to run but the memories still make me smile today.

Love it. Even if the NCT expires in the morning, or whatever. I would just love that car.
Unfortunately, I'm not looking for one at the moment. (and I'm not brave enough either :()

Focus estates are 4.5m or there abouts and a Mazda 323f is 3.6m. That's a metres difference

Not quite. Focus 4.44m, F 4.20m so less than a quarter of a metres difference!

But you have a point in that the loading space in the Focus is way bigger. Can't blame Mazda though, they don't call it a stationwagon, just a F (Fastbreak)

We all love them, few of us have the balls the own one. The seller knows this, he should NCT it and the thing will be sold the next day for his asking price

Little devil on my shoulder tells me this car has issues...

Yeah I later admitted fault. I just googled length and saw the first number and went with it.

Where are you getting these measurements? Is there a website with a list of approx dimensions for different types of cars?

Was arguing with a friend earlier on about lengths of Hatchbacks VS Saloons and couldnt find much on Google..?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭RidleyRider

Just google 'what length is...' and scroll through. Parkers usually have them too.

Just Nct'd today.7 seater diesel estate with 4 new tyres timing belt+water pump done 2 wks ago. All droplinks+bushings recently replaced. With receipts to prove.

If it all adds up it's a great buy for €900, plenty of space, comfort and good economy for it's size. Peugeot always made classy big estates IMO, I had a 505 estate years ago, seriously regret ever selling it.

Had one in an automatic not long ago - great car, almost convinced the lady that had drove from Clare not to buy it :o Was sorry to see it go but both wasn't doing the mileage for a diesel and the 4 speed auto made anything over 40mpg pretty unachievable in mixed driving.

I know the HDi is good for high mileage but this one's up on a very impressive 280k miles which would worry me. That said, if it got this far, it's a testament to how well it's been maintained.

Is it due a new timing belt?

Yes - I'd go so far to say it's overdue at this stage (due every 36,000 miles). Not a big deal, but those are awful alloys for a the newer 156s.

Yea they're horrible. Looks like someone took a bin lid and cut a load of holes through them.
It is a dealer as well so at least you should be getting some sort of warranty.

That's a ridiculously good value, NCT 14 , buy and drive til the belt snaps , scrap it, 2 years stylish, motoring for feck all .

Same car with lower mileage would cost 5500 in Italy
