It's the start of a brand new year in the world of wrestling, and, as such, it's time for the annual PW Boards.ie Draft!

The aim of this game is to create a fantasy roster over the next few weeks and months, and then put together a fantasy card in which you describe how you'd book the line-up you have assembled.

This is the thread in which the 20 lucky members who signed up will make their draft picks, based on random draws.

ALL DISCUSSION OF THE DRAFT GOES >>> HERE!!! <<<

    Here's the rules....
    Draft Order
The order people make their picks is decided at random, via a completely unbiased List Randomizer website. There will be two rounds in which the drawing order will not be random. These will be made clear at the start of those two rounds.

    Tag Teams:

Tag Teams come as a package so for example if you want the Dudleys then you don't have to pick Bubba one round and then D-Von the next. The rules for tag teams are as follows:

    - Cannot have a world champion in them ie no DX or Hart Foundation
    - Must have tagged together for at least 3 months
    - Inter gender tag teams not allowed
    - Members of factions, ie Saturn and Malenko, are not deemed valid picks as they are not classed as legit tag teams under the criteria for the game.
    - 5 tag teams is the maximum amount of teams for each roster

    World Titles:
World titles are considered as the following:
WWE, World Heavyweight Title/WCW, TNA and NWA

(Note: For the benefit of the game as a whole and to reflect the realistic loss in prestige of the NWA Title, only holders of the NWA Title up until the WCW World Championship came into use will be regarded as World Champions for the purposes of the game. )

    Eligible Promotions:
WWE, TNA, ROH, anything historically going under the NWA banner.

    Time Frame:
No professional debuts pre 1970 are eligible. There will be a round for pre 1970 picks. There will also be a celeb round where celebs who have appeared on wrestling TV are elibible for picks.

    - To determine wrestler debuts we will use Wikipedia as in previous years. If you feel the Wikipedia entry is incorrect you can PM me or one of the mods to state your case.

    - people who would be considerd Celebs more so than wrestlers are only eligable to be drafted in the special celeb round and not in any other round

    - Dark matches and try out matches will not be valid cases this year for selecting a wrestler.

    - Managers and female wrestlers are eligible if people wish to pick them. Commentators have not been included in recent years.

    Trades:
Trades are allowed from rd6 onwards but you are limited it 5 trades each. When a trade occurs it's superstars your trading, not goes in the draft, so you must be able to make the draft pick before they are eligable to
be drafted, i.e all normal rules such as 5 tag team picks limit are still in effect.

Trades may be vetoed by those running the game in order to ensure a fair balance is maintained. However, this is extremely unlikely to occur for the vast majority of trades, and will only be discussed in situations where there is suspicion of other matters influencing the game.

    Stip rounds:
We've got a few stipulation rounds lined up, including the now traditional Round One Stipulation. Make sure to read each carefully, and if you're unsure what you're meant to do, ask in the discussion thread and verify your pick with an organiser.

    Missed Picks
The draft runs under a 24 Hour rule. In other words, you have 24 hours to make your pick from the moment the person prior to you has made theirs. This will be enforced so as not to slow down the game. If you think you are going to miss your window, PM someone a list of who you'd like and they can make your pick for you. Should you miss your window, your pick will be pushed back to the end of that round.

Note - Rules may be amended during the contest to help run the game smoother if it's felt this is necessary but we will aim to ensure everyone is kept up to date if this has to happen

I've taken the reigns of the draft for this year, but it should be noted that Bounty Hunter, Dare 2 Defy and Campo have also all offered their services in various ways.

So, without further delay, it's time for the PW DRAFT 2013!
    ROUND ONE!
    stipround.jpg

    Stipulation: No American Born Wrestlers
For the first round, your choices are limited completely to wrestlers who were born outside of the United States of America. This may seem very restrictive at first, but there's actually a massive contingency to choose from, and, as usual, the chance for some people to amaze with the vast knowledge of wrestling. As usual, we're going based on Wiki, though if people can produce evidence that a wrestler was born outside the 50 states, they can choose accordingly.

The draft order for Round 1 is...

    1. JP Liz V1
    2. Furious Red
    3. A Primal Nut
    4. Bounty Hunter
    5. Diabhal Beag

    Welcome back to the BWA...

    Kenta Kobashi

    20071202040.jpg
His second and third North American appearances were for Ring of Honor, where he defeated Samoa Joe in a memorable singles match (given a full 5-stars by the Wrestling Observer as well as their Match of the Year award for 2005), and teamed with Homicide to defeat the tag team of Samoa Joe and Low Ki.

and his tag team partner, who he won the following with:
AJPW Unified World Tag Team Championship (2 times)
AJPW All Asia Tag Team Championship
    World's Strongest Tag Team League (1993, 1994, 1995)

    Mitsuharu Misawa

    misawa.jpg
he following week, Misawa traveled to the United States to appear at Ring of Honor's Glory by Honor VI weekend. The first night, he teamed with KENTA to face Takeshi Morishima and Naomichi Marufuji, wrestling to a thirty minute time-limit draw.

They are both eligable to tag due to their above stated time tagging together and due to the fact that they have never won any of the only recognised world titles
    World Titles:
World titles are considered as the following:
WWE, World Heavyweight Title/WCW, TNA and NWA

despite not holding those titles though im sure many of you will recognise why these stars are such great drafts and will recognise their success outside of the American arenas.

Trying to keep mine fairly current and my roster is probs gonna be a bit ****ter than most so my pick is Sheamus. He's famous for being a former heavy for Denise Van Outen.

    Sheamus.jpg

The lack of consideration for possible IT problems so far in picks is shocking. What happens if you can't connect your printer wirelessly? That's where this nerd will cum in handy (I'm so sorry).

Among his handful of achievements is a slammy for needing the most makeup. So you can take your NWA Titles and shove them in your bum (be careful!!!)

A few people on the board know I am a big fan of this guy. Hasn't been booked the best in recent times but I hope to do him justice.

His C.V. is very impressive. He is a 2 time WWE Champion, a former Money in the Bank contract winner and has also won the Royal Rumble.

The first pick for Monday Night Grappling is the Mexican aristocrat...Alberto Del Rio.

Liam Championship Wrestling (unsure if LCW is in use, will change if not) would like to welcome Fergal "Prince" Devitt, someone who I've admittedly not seen much of but is a good draw and a very talented and sought after guy, good value at this stage of proceedings. I'm sure he'll fit in well as a main component of my roster.

time to go in a different direction for the BWA

    tumblr_ktu0r7KFD91qaqls7o1_500_1263276218_1301094131.jpg

here is a write up I stole quickly from somewhere else

When it comes right down to it, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin wasn't born with enough middle fingers. And yes, it's ironic that Austin became the most popular and profitable wrestler in WWE history after he suffered what could have been a career busting neck injury in 1997, which wound up severely limiting his in-ring abilities. Before Austin vs. McMahon launched WWE RAW back to the top, after losing to WCW's Nitro in the ratings for almost two years, Austin was a superb technician. Austin cut his teeth in WCCW and the USWA before heading to WCW as "Stunning" Steve Austin and becoming a member of Paul Heyman's Dangerous Alliance. Heyman, knowing that Austin was great, but never used, on the mic, gave him an opportunity to cut some promos in ECW after getting fired from WCW and the rest is legend. An "Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass" later, and a mega-star was born. Austin was so wildly chaotic and malicious that the anti-hero loving crowd began cheering him over Bret Hart, leading to a complete role-reversal. From there on out, it was a Stunner for Vince! A Stunner for The Rock! One for Undertaker, Kane, Mick Foley and Kurt Angle. Not to mention, Shane, Stephanie and even Linda McMahon! It was a time of beer baths and mayhem

    BWA 2013 thus far:

    1. Mitsuharu Misawa
    2. Kenta Kobashi
    3. Stone Cold Steve Austin
