What will this actually mean for long-suffering home mobile b/band users?

What kind of speeds will be available and at what kind of cost?
Will we be at last on a par with 'proper' broadband?
What about Niall Quinn and friends, surely this would kill off satellite b/band?
Will the signal come via a tv aerial?

So many questions I don't know the answers to

in short nothing for you Comreg decide what bandwidth mobile providers will get and they will sure a hell mess that up and Comreg have said that only 70% geographic coverage is fine so nothing from Comreg for NBS users. They are to be abandoned by Comreg

Not in NBS, just too far from the exchange. Mobile b/band is ok here just unpredictable, drops etc.
So how will the 70% be decided? Surely those too far from exchanges and not in NBS will be a priority?

Drops, unpredictability etc are usually accounted for by CDMA cell breathing a well known effect on 3G networks. You have a signal one minute then next poof it's gone and you have to wait for a "while" until the cell becomes less congested.

The 70% thing is up to the operators their only obligation is to say "we have 70% of the country covered", you would think that Comreg would have mandated 95% or some such...as usual the cities will get covered and the more populated areas of Leinster and the "culchees" can move
