Hi Everyone,

Slightly later than anticipated but it is time to start getting your photos ready for submission. The deadline will be on Sunday night the 9th October which will give us a couple of weeks to get the book put together and payments sorted out.

At the minute we're looking at a 100 page book this year so the first 100 people to have said they were interested will be asked to submit a photo to the book. Like last year, there is no chance to change your image that you submit because it will cause headaches getting the book sorted out. We require your photo to be sent in the highest res possible, with your username, real name and a 1 liner about the shot. The email address to send them to is boardsbook@gmail.com

The timeframe for everything is as follows:
Photo subs - no later than Sunday night 9th October

Payment - no later than Sunday 16th Oct

Book Launch - Mid November, date and venue tba.

No payment, no inclusion.

I'll ask Steve about a size recommendation for the book. Last year we didn't have any issues with any of the image sizes.

I've never submitted anything like this before and am starting to really plank it now over what shot to choose, and wondering have I over-reached myself!

Are there any restrictions with regard to the type of shot, subject, size, layout etc?
If I've posted a shot to the random photos thread is it still ok to use that one?

you'll be fine - remember to breathe!
the shot can be anything you'd be happy to see in a book. the last few years have been landscape layout but the two books i've been in so far i've submitted portrait orientated shots - the choice is ultimately yours!

Any image does it, we have no editorial restrictions (that's the beauty of this project!).

I would recommend using the highest format i.e. 300dpi or so, as it is a safer choice.

Also, as the book is landscape format, in general, a landscape image looks better, portrait images are a lot smaller and loose some of their impact. That said, it's entirely up to you, if you want portrait, you do portrait, simples!
