Boards.ie server picture thread

Thought i'd start a thread for us to post pictures of stuff we're building and other happenings on the server.

I'll start with a few pictures of the mansion i've been working on.

Picture from the front.

View from just inside the front door.

Instead of having boring plain rooms i decided to go with themed rooms. This is the desert room.

And the lava room.

The water room.

And the outdoor swimming pool.

I'm not finished yet. Im in the process of creating a flat area in the front where ill build a garden and might build a wall around the whole area when im done.

Great idea, I was going to do a video of Moria rather than doing tours of it so I'll put a few pics up here later, or maybe a fraps video.

Wanted to ask you, what did you used for the flooring in the lava room? It looks like iron grills?!

I'm slapping together Humanjia, a little floating vanity villa. It's got everything a miner could need: wheat, tree, cactus and reed farms, crafting hall, storage area and a swimming pool. And all safely away from any nasty beasties:

I've been tinkering with automatic farms. The cactus one is easy enough, but I've been struggling with the reeds. Thankfully Cherryghost has added a piston mod that let me build this:

You press the button on the same side as the plants, which activates a gold block to push the bottom reed over. Any reeds above fall off and you collect them:

I'm sure there's a smarter way of doing it, but it took me long enough to figure out that.

That's an excellent system! I was trying to figure out something similar to that, wonder if it works with wheat too...

It probably wont as it will cover the tilled dirt and you will have to till it everytime. i think

Yeah, so far it only really works with reeds. Wheat needs tilled dirt. You can sort of work with cactii, but it's awkward and you're just better off having one of the simple version, ie a block over it so that new cactus blocks break off straight away.

That's why I was asking about what piston mod was being used, as the fancy one for singleplayer allows you to harvest cactii pretty well.
