Strange video here, worth watching, but I'd imagine it's total bull, given that the so-called "Actual Footage" of 1982 of trucks transporting to Cork Airport shows Cars and Trucks not built till the 1990's.

" The irish military changed the tyres of the An225 to snow tyres" Where did they get the tyres? off a Bedford or maybe a bren gun carrier.............:D

    Rubbish.

A whole lot of errors in it, even for a conspiracy theory :) The one existing An225 hadn't even been built in 1982, let alone flown to Cork. It first flew a full six years later. The E-class Merc in the "actual film" is a late model W124, which has not been available before 1984. The model pictured is probably much younger than that, as are the stroboscopic flashing lights on the "military vehicle" in front of the truck. I stopped watching at that point. Complete bull, and badly made.

It's very entertaining, it would have been better if he did his research more carefully. The AN 225 didn't fly until the late eighties. An An124 would have done just as well for the purposes of the story. It mentions Belarus airspace, obviously he's too young to remember but in 1982 Belarus was merely one of the Soviet Socialist republics not a country in itself. Snow tyres for a Soviet aircraft? That's a good one, it's not as if they don't ever have snow. It's riddled with these errors. It really could have been made a lot more plausible.

Good story though. Should be in the conspiracy theory forum or indeed one of the movie making forums.

Entertaining Yes, Well made - Yes, Well Researched - No

A good idea but so so flawed in so many places.

So many holes in this story, in addition to the above

the truck from the convoy looks like a Daf XF, first produced around 2003. The loads looks like it weighs at least 50tonnes alone, there is no way you could drive that anywhere at high speed.

Even the no overtaking roadsign looks fairly new

I am of the opinion that it was just a film of a fictional event made by someone rather than an actual conspiracy video.

In reality would a document that classified the tail numbers of military aircraft have their type openly written as Harrier GR2? I would consider the type to be a more obvious indicator of their military origin than their tail number.

He may have been trying to be serious.......

..but the final product has too many holes to be taken seriously:

-As if there were normal scheduled flights into Cork at 2300 in 1982!
-AN225 was Flight 001, really? At least make up a more plausible flight number.
-Eye witnesses saw US and French warships in the bay, did they see a flag?
-Who the hell has a video camera in 1982 in Cork/Kerry in the middle of the night
(I think there is only 1 piece of civilian footage of the Challenger disaster in 1986, a Florida dentist filmed from his driveway)
-The pilots routing info seems quite mad, no refuelling info, Zossen to Belarus then turning for Cork seems a awful long way.
-How and why exactly would the Irish change the tyres? Thats a big job on an A321, let alone an AN225.
-3 hours in the dark to construct a runway on snow able to take an AN-225?
-9pm in Andorra is not equal to 9PM in Ireland or inflight from Zossen to Moscow,

The Cork accent doesn't help either.....this is obviously a personal preference.
With a bit more work it could have been a lot more plausible.

    Awww....

    Pity...

It's more fun when they make us WORK for the fixes to the problems.

True, and the Merc number plate looks like it's the kind that only came in 1987, with the year, county and number. Before that they were usually metal ones with red background and black lettering, 3 letters and usually 2 or 3 numbers.

Yes! Looks like a group of people who like to make their own videos. Harmless fun. Even a project for potential news editors. I suppose if it was Dublin it would be a 'Blue' event :D

Its possible Clint Eastwood made an emergency landing in Kenmare Bay in Firefox (flight no. 007), Having been rescued by the aircraft carrier LE Charles J Haughey, it was transported by the army rangers in a stolen Bread van to cork where all staff were eliminated if they caught site of the An225....

Was there actually an incident of any type in cork at that time? What I mean is, is this crap built around an actual event or a complete fabrication.

I believe the INLA bombed the radar domes on Mount Gabriel in Scull around Sept-Oct 1982.

I stopped watching when they were talking to the farmer and somebody added in the sheep sounds.
