Im gonna be out of a job by the end of march....... me and 24 others with a further 10 more fighting for their jobs...(1 bad customer stat and then they gone)

the jobs are going to the philippines.

our gov stand back n do nothing to protect jobs.

    here is my solution.

Increase import taxes on all goods manufactured outside the EU.
Increase VAT on all good manufactured outside the EU.
Abolish import taxes on all goods manufactured in the EU.
lower VAT on all goods manufactured in the EU.

result less job loss to asia regions

more jobs created in the EU.

I'd grab your arse down the dole ASAP and inform them, then when you do lose your job (sorry about that BTW), get your cliam done and if you have to wait for the claim to go through, go to the local social welfare officer and get some kind of weekly payment till you get the claim put through.

These things are probably decided at WTO level, above EU level, so to be honest our governmnet couldn't really do much about it. Protectionism usually doesn't help on average though.

Sorry to hear about your job - hope you find something else soon.

I would be very proud if you did the same :pac:

I would suggest to the OP to go job searching the meantime or consider emigrating to Australia... I heard they have a great GAA scene there

Employee wages is not just the only factor in alot of companies leaving ireland in droves.

    High energy costs,

    Poor banking system,

    Corrupt government,

    are also factors
