    Even RTÉ get confused.

If you go to revamped DTT Aertel page 888 you see the headline "Subtitles on Soar View DTT"

Time for RTÉ to roll out their own internal information campaign I guess.

I *think* I have fixed all the soaring typos on my site. I've added Saorview and Saorsat to my firefox spelling checker and searched each page for Soar.

I never learnt Irish at school. The Irish vowels are always catching me :(

Looking at Thesaurus and translate.google.com the best alternative I can find is
    teilifíse poiblí
Saor is nasty sounding hard to spell word that will be badly mispronounced by anyone that's not learnt Irish.

Saorview and Saorsat are such sad Irishifications of Freeview and Freesat.

I agree! But have RTENL or anyone involved officially called it saorsat?

I think they should have used a more uplifting name such as LOOKup. Then they could add a bit of Irish and get FEaCHup.

    :D

    Here

Also on digital Aertel, the TV schedule pages they have added the channel LCN's for UPC, Sky and SaorView TV (correct spelling), TV3 and 3e have no Saorview position indicated but space left to add it in later. Radio channels allocated from 200 upwards, Radio 1 has LCN 200/201 but RnaG also indicates 201.

RTE TEN stands for The Entertainment Network. Just a section on the RTE website.
