Weirdos (you know, the older ones that just stare at you like you have 8 heads :D)
    How often it's open
    Door staff

Spy isn't a gay bar, Prhomo is a night on in a pub once a week and Q&A is a night on in a semi-derelict theatre once every three months or so... not sure why you'd have them on the poll?

I put them in because they are bars in which gay people can meet on a large scale :P plus i asked to take into account how often it's open and other various things, before you polled. :)

The Front Lounge is an ok spot before they turn the music up to deafening levels.
None of the others because of aforementioned bloody music problem, which is not exclusive to 'gay' pubs.

When did 'socialising' in pubs in Ireland become more about drinking than chatting? </grumpy old woman mode>

Prefer Pantibar for general socializing. Its got a good vibe to be honest.

Nah, we never had the "Sit there in silence, drinking pint after pint" culture some places have.

Was at Spy on Friday night and must admit it was one hell of an experience! It's not a gay bar obviously but most times I was on the dancefloor there was more homosexual/bisexual activity than hetrosexual, which was cool. If you saw that in certain clubs it wouldn't last long without incident.

Great club anyway. Best one I've been to in my time as a socialite.

    +1.

I was there Friday night aswell and it was my first time ever out in Dublin. Brilliant club! Even if it's not a gay bar it can definitely be described as "gay friendly"; it's not every club you'd see that.

None to be honest, their all sleaze pots, Dublin's gay scene is really bad IMHO. I think USA and Canada have the perfect ones.

Are you really comparing the gay scene in a city of 1 million people to the options available on the entire North American continent?

They have some truly awful ones too.

The best are not necessarily in big cities either, some of the better places are in cities like Palm Springs and Provincetown, which are not exactly huge but gay meccas in their own right.
