    Yes, I was in Dromod also - it was indeed a strange sight!!

    People were walking across the frozen harbour - not us I hasten to add and I definitely would'nt advise anyone to do it :(

    My mam said that her grandfather remembered a winter when they walked across the frozen Shannon with a horse and cart :eek:

    yeah people were walking to the island in lough key:eek:, gob****es the river has droped a foot since it has frozen

    here's some pics of lough derg-killaloe taken saturday

    talkin to some old local chaps, and they say they've never seen anything like it, it was absolutely freezing btw never experienced such bitter cold in ireland before
