    Theres lots of freeware firewalls varying from Discrete to Draconian. I havent used one in about 5 years though, so you'll have to ask someone else. Payware Suites usually include one. Windows already has a basic one built in.

    Windows Vista onwards has a great one built in, you just have to use Vista / Win 7 Firewall control to make it non-basic.

    I don't think he/she is talking about Firewalls anyway.
