Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Based on feedback from players we are launching a new team event to be played at Citywest Aug 21st – 23rd.

The Main Event will now be €250 per man. Teams of six players €220 + €30 reg.

Anyone can enter a team. The cost per team is therefore €1500 all in.
The only rule is that each team must have a unique name.

The total Prizepool will be divided 60 / 40. With sixty percent going into the team event payouts and forty percent going into the individual payouts, with top ten percent being paid.

When a team registers you can also declare your interest in one of the three other cup competitions that will run concurrently within the main tournament. There is no additional registration required for these competitions. The winners will receive a trophy that is theirs to keep forever.

    These are:

    The All Ireland Poker Championship.

Yes the 32 counties are back. So if you’re county is out of the running for GAA honours this year you can declare in the All Ireland Poker Championship.

As many teams can enter from each county as they like; but each team must have a unique name relating to their county. For Example: Dublin Citywest, Westport Mayo, Galway City, Kiltimagh Mayo, Dublin East.

    The Inter-Casino Cup.

Declare for your local casino, online card room or favourite poker related organisation. This is open to all teams who are officially representing companies working within the poker industry. It can include any online site, any card club, casino or tournament organiser, any online site dedicated to poker or any poker forum.

    The Club Trophy.

This is open to all clubs, pubs and other organisations that have no poker affiliation. So it could be your work place, soccer club, or your local pub.
The supporting events are now as follows.

    Saturday: €270 + €30 2 day event
    Sunday: €180 + €20 1 day event.

    Charter

    1. Who is running the event – Pokerevents.ie in association with JP Poker

Wel done to organisers, listening to player feedback and changing Tournament. The previous County team event is now Legendary in certain circles.

I did like the original idea and hopefully this will resurface again in better financial times!

Len def put me down for a team" Fallons Pub" -- name to be decided upon over vast quantaties of porter at a later stage.:D

    Best of luck with this!:D

    Quick question on this....

Can a team be in more than 1 cup comp as well a main tournament?

eg- A pub team enters main tourney and could be a county team(all-Ireland) and also want in to the Club Trophy as well.
Or a Casino Team in main event and inter casino cup but also wanting into the County Comp.

    Thanks guys.

Tribezz we did debate whether it would be too complicated, I was in favour of allowing teams to enter the all Ireland and one other.

We can do this if it proves popular - as obviously Nicky Power for example would probably want to represent both Bruce Poker in the Inter Casino and Waterford.

We'll throw it out to discussion, and if enough people want to do it I think it will be fine

We've wrecked our heads thinking of combinations - but essentially we wanted to make sure that we don't exclude anybody who wants to play.

The point was raised however that the team that probably wins Teamcop would end up winning all the cups entered into [obviously] So the idea was to declare for the trophy that you think you have the best chance of winning.

    But we're open to suggestions.

    HI Len,
Your probably better off saying that a team can win any cup, but cannot win more than 1 cup. So pick your cup of preference before play begins so ion the event of your team being the best team there on the day, you get your title of preference.

Do I take it there is just 1 set of team money prizes to be won, but a few cups and titles? Or am I reading it wrong?

    Connie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,924 ✭✭✭Fatboydim

No that's right Connie - The prizemoney is just in the Umbrella competition and the cups are for bragging rights and added fun.

I think that's a good suggestion of yours by the way.

I'll put it to the management.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,836 ✭✭✭connie147

Thats fine Len. I think the tourney is an excellent idea and we'll have a few teams from kerry. Let you know later.

    Connie

    Thanks for the reply Len.

It's great added value and extra craic either way!

Am really looking forward to this!

    Will be in touch.

But don't go asking for blondes with big boobies otherwise you might end up with a Scandinavian darts player.

I will be on Irish Poker Radio this week spilling my guts about the hard work and effort we've put into bringing this event to the masses this week.

I'd also urge anyone playing or thinking of playing to get their details on to the teamcop website. You do this simply by emailing info@teamcop.com Then we can upload pictures and profiles.

Individuals can do this as well so when we're reporting on side events and doing the live updates your friends and family can check on your progress and see little pictures of you. If you're really ashamed of the way you look an avatar would do. :D

I'm on this weeks Irish Poker Radio waffling on about Teamcop and what a donkey I am if anyone is interested.

Something that was asked was if anyone doesn't have five mates what happens then. So just to be clear - as always at these events - If you fancy playing but your team is short or you are an individual turn up anyway and we'll be able to accommodate you. However best practice is to drop us a line before the event at info@teamcop.com There's around forty teams out there that we are aware of that have yet to submit details to the site. If you could at least email your team names that would be usefull aas it will save time on the day.

    cheers

If i wasn't on holidays during last 2 weeks in August, i'd be entering the winning team into this. Sick that i'm missing a chance to take down my 4th team event title in 6 outings. You lucky lucky people!

Eh basically was just taking this as another game until i saw the trsh talk. Would like someone to do a book on us because I would lump on us. we have the nuts for this!http://www.teamcop.com/Teams/tabid/98/Default.aspx

Big Mick G........nice team, pity though. Full of online luckboxes and players who cant finish the deal.

Team Eglington will be solid but too old to last the distance.

As far as Smoothcall's team....well the kid ran away and o shea is out!

LOL!!! You dont scare me. We'll do our talking on the table.

Im thinking a prop bet would be more in keeping with the tourney than a money bet! anything you can come up with??

Also we dont mind being 3rd favs. All the sweeter when we win!

Excellent JP - I've found the same thing myself. Just a reluctance to post teams up LOL.

Once again a reminder that it will save time on the day. Even if you only have half your team confirmed it will save time to let us know the team name and the names of the players you have got. We can wipe details in a stroke - it takes a lot longer to add them.

So please if you know you are playing drop us a line info@teamcop.com

We're getting a few people sending us emails saying the same thing. We can always hook people up on the day, but easier to do it in advance. Just let us know.

I can also unleash our secret weapon for the Irish team - We have been joined by Silky. Our plan is simple - we are just going to let him knock the rest of you out. :D
