Dentist's in Waterford

Im just wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable dentist in Waterford? One thats not a "Butcher" for all the world when your getting anything done to your teeth, and that does a fairly good job.
If they had Cover and also were city central that would be a bonus.:)

Funny you mentioned

One thats not a "Butcher"

cause a friend at work got his teeth done recently and said the same words. He ended up going to http://euromed.ie and he is very happy with the results and the way he was treated. They are located on the Gracedieu Road.

Noeleen Walsh on O Connnell street, the best in the city! have been with her 10 years and never once had a single bit of pain

....that includes root canals, fillings, you name it...staff are friendly

Oh BTW stay away from one particular dentist on ballybricken...goddamn butcher

Ronan Fox is in the O Connell St surgery too along with Noeleen Walsh, and I find him very very good. Pleasant chap, no complaints whatsoever about his work, I've been to a fair few dentists and orthodontists over the years and he's the best I've been to.

Is that the one by the doctors there? I went in there a few years back.. took two dentists to remove my tooth the girl couldnt do it so your man just ripped it out in about 3 seconds worst pain of my life id say :mad:

Had to get quite a bit of work done late last year due to neglect and fear of dentists so i would totally recommend Brasscock Dental Practice at the Ballinakill Centre on the Dunmore Road.Des Kennedy is the proprietor but it was Niamh Morris who dealt with me.

Another recommendation here for Noeleen Walsh in O'Connell Street. I used have the worst fear of dentists til I found her. She's very gentle and takes your mind off what you're having done. She also opens late on Tuesdays (until 7.30pm I'm nearly sure) which is handy if you can't get time off work during regular opening hours.

I was actually going to post this today!
I haven't been to a dentist in 15 years(im only 24:()

I'm afraid of my life of the thought of it even!!!!

My teeth are in a bad state, and i think i'm going to have to suck it up and head in and just get em done!

Is there any dentist that can actually "put you under" to do work on your teeth.

I really am ****ting myself at the thought of heading in!

That was exactly the way I was, hadn't been to a dentist since school (the clinic in Newgate Street put me right off!). I was petrified. Noeleen Walsh completely put me at ease and I wouldn't think twice about going to the dentist now.

For what it's worth, I attended that dentist for years and have nothing but good things to report. His daughter is also supposed to be very good from what I hear.

Just because you may have had a tough time, doesn't mean they're bad at their job. You may well have had the same situation with any dentist. I've had a dentist practically put his knee up on me so that he could get a tough tooth out. Sure, it hurt, but he got it out!

The OP asked for recommendations on dentists. Can't we stick to doing that instead of bad-mouthing a family-business in tough times?

I'd really much prefer tis option!!!

There are 3 dentists surgerys in Ballybricken and nobody mentioned names, family business etc. Like everywhere, there are good and bad dentists. the exception is that Noeleen Walsh is one of the best.

I'm afraid its local anesthetic in Wexford. Had to have it done 6 years ago in Wexford. If I was you i wouldn't be afraid. I go to Noeleen Walsh's every 6 months and had a good bit of work done over the last few years. That included fixing problems caused by "another" certain dentist. Absolutely, no pain whatsoever and Noeleen doesn't rush it and she does talk you through it.

There is an orthodontist that i used to see where the old ESB building is on the mall, he used to be able to bring in an anesthetist (very expensive) for proceures. But, if you just go to the dentist and find out what needs to be done, she'll be able to advise you before doing anything. Serious, you should arrange an appointment and just find out what needs to be done and take it from there.

This noleen walsh sound like the one to go to the, is it against forum rules for one of her patients to post her contact details, I guess ill just make an appoiontment and see what condition my mouth is in and then decide if I can convince myself to have it done!

I'm actually ashamed of myself for letting my teeth get the way they are!

Id recommned Richard O Hara, I was in last year, hadnt been to a dentist in 15 years due to a hatred of them after a guy in Carrick on Suir butchered me as a child, Richard extracted 2 teeth and did 8 fillings. I have never been to Mrs O Hara but I could`nt fault Richard based on the several visits over 2 months I had to endure.

They are not in the ESB anymore, moved to Grattan Quay for a while but have moved out to the cleaboy indusrial estate now...but yea you can request local anesthetic... if you are really nervous you can get a sedative. that seems to ease a lot of people, just ring up and ask( I worked in reception in a specialist dental surgery)

I reccommend Noleen Walsh in O Connell street, Ive been going there about 2 years, went to Dr fox once for a filling too and it was fine.

the german girl at the top of belvedere drive before you turn into lisduggan is brilliant.
ive been through a good few dentist over the years and shes the best by a long shot.

i would second Claudia at the top of browns road, i think it is called Belvedere Dentist. She is a dote and it so brilliant. The last time i was in with her, i had a filling and actually fell asleep!!!!!! She is brilliant for nervous people, my mother hadn't been in a dentist for years, and her teeth were in an awful state, so i finally convinced her to go, and she had her sorted in no time, and now mam goes to her without a second thought.

I agree , remember Caludia when she worked in another dental surgery, and she is the best .

You would'nt even notice you were having treatment carried out .
