This is an idea that is shamelessly stolen from RunnersWorld

Basically we have a list for recording our best times at races of various distances, creating a bit of a league table. Loads of us did races over Xmas so this is your chance to grab a top spot!

Rather than everyone putting in everytime that everone has ran, how about you only update if you've made it in to the top three of any distance. We already have a thread which logs every mile run, we may end up with two monster threads (and counting) in '09. It is meant to be the best of '09 rather than every (boardsie) race result of '09. ?

I agree it could end up being a huge thread but so what. I think it's great that your proud of your time and you want to stick it down and then have a look and see who is next in your sights and who is just over your shoulders (shels4ever in my case)

Well then I guess it's the 'personal' best of '09. Sure why not. But I think there may be a bit of confusion as either the above times are from the end of '08 (and this is for '09) or people are creating races on their tobler (Eliwallach ?). I guess the times should only be for recognised races and sure while we're at it, the race the time was achieved in should be noted alongside the time.

You still have 2mins + over 5k but i'd hope to cut that down to 1 over the next 6 week...

I'll give you a race in the summer for a sub 19

Good idea. Posting the race beside the time will give a feel for the races that people pb in and also who may have been in the same race as you that you didn't know... it could pop up some surprises for people!

I'm now looking for a 5k event to get me into that little league. I think I'd be sitting right next to Woddle!

Yeah I agree with Rusty, it should be for 09 and maybe it should be only if you get your pb and not a sb.

Damn, just realised that my race was stephens day so not actually this year

If teh post gets too big then we can split into running / tri and then split again so that we have 5k in a post by itself or whatever to keep it managible. And my idea was that you'd put your own best performance of teh year up, not that you'd put up every result; kind of like a squash ladder. Then at the end of this year we can create a "Hall of Fame" stickie with teh 3 best performances at each distance. If they are really good them Woodle and HM might even give you a celebratory kiss
