lol at blazing aces getting 28 votes.
I've been in there a couple of times and while it's probably not the worst,'best' is a stretch for even the most imaginative of us.

It'd make you wonder how many new accounts voted!???!

Bit harsh imo! Everywhere cant look like the sporting ! Its about atmosphere, value for money etc....

Would you like to explain what you base a "best" on because I can tell you for a range of tournaments, good craic, nice bunch of members you'll find it hard if not impossible to find better than Aces.

Look at the SE, beautiful decor but that appears to be it.

The Fitz is a great club & has lots that Aces doesn't have. But the Fitz is a casino & this award is for "Best Poker Room".

Sure not as many players in Aces as the Fitz but then we are drawing from a much smaller population.

Anyway would like to hear you views on what makes "Poker Room of the Year".

A lot of straws to clutch down your way? ;)

Also, it's official name is "Fitzwilliam Card Club", although it does refer to itself as "Fitzwilliam Card Club & Casino" as well. Not that it matters of course.

I'm not clutching at any straws, just replying to the poster who questioned my clubs credentials.

I think it is a great achievement for a small provincial club to be running joint 2nd as I post here.

We don't want or need to be voted the best. We know how good our club is.

But why should someone question why others voted for us. We can't all vote for the eventual winners, no point in having a vote then.........

Well, I've no beef with you but saying that the Fitz should be excluded because it's a casino is, well, simply ridiculous.
Sure there would only be about 3-4 places in the country that fit the bill.

People voted for Blazin Aces because its their favourite poker room, and they post here.

    Why do people complicate things???

I'm not one bit surprised that the lads inside have got behind the club they play in night in, night out. You'd be astonished at how pretty much every player in Blazin Aces knows all about the goings on at Boards. As a small club (in comparative terms), there's a lot of banter that the vast majority of the members get involved in and pre-tournament discussions debating threads on here occur regularly. I think the high % of votes is simply indicative of a big Waterford presence here on the forum, a presence which is noticeable throughout the year and not just over the past week as it has been suggested.
