    I am just following the crap that out on the net which might be bull**** so don't say you were not told so


    Budget up yours my non flex fuel car runs no problem on cheaper E85 and that with no add on kits no changes to anything in the engine



    I been over testing my car for the last few months with all types of mixxes of E5 and normal E5 fues mixxed or straight

    Resullts are my car runs with any thing from e85 to down to e5 fuels
    It runs best on E 40% in terms of fuel economy before the budget

    If the price of fuel normal goes to and stays at 1.25 then e40 is best roughly or about 50% e5 unleaded and 50% E85

    If the price of E5 had dropped as forecast to to 0.75 then E5 would have been cheaper if E85 stayed at 0.99 per liter

    Basically the MPG loss for my car is about ~5% maybe ~10% so as long as E85 remains 20% cheaper than E5 its better for me to use high ratios like E60

    The car has minor issues running on pure E85 like when its cold slow to get going and exhast going through the estate is like a brewery arrived in the housing estate

    I swear the neighbours have me pegged as a alco and me a tea totaler:)


    My car is a Suziki swift 1998 1000cc three cyclinder petrol engine non flex fuel type no modification made to engine in timing or fuel feeds etc

    The car would oerate better naturally in terms of MPG with a suitable kit and extras like hotter spark plugs but it would take me 5 years to get the money back something like 600 euros for E85 kit convertions as my milage in thistime is not big

    Others with big milage might benifit with E85 convertion kits

    with some extra bits for some makes of cars and all makes will do 50% e85 and 50% e5 =~ 45% with no ill effects without to buy extra stuff to make them work

    However some devices can be usefull in winter like special spark plugs which ignite the less flamable fuel in cold weather
    Other devices help the computer controlled injectors to supply extra fuel which can be easily done with a screw driver and small drill with normal non injected type older engines

    There also exists lots of threads on many forums about this
