Hi its my first post here, so I hope I'm in the right place.

I was just in the Spar on the South Circular road, the city end
and they have Duff Beer. Looks just like the beer in the Simpsons.

I dont know how much it costs as they did not have scanned into their system. Its made in Belgium according to the label. I didn't have my phone with me, but I will be in later and post some pics.

Duff' is Gaelic for "Dark" or "Black". The latter is a popular brand of beer in The Simpsons, which caused Daleside Brewery to be sued by 20th Century Fox.

There's a sweet shop in London that sells Duff (although it's an energy drink and not actually a beer, something to do with Matt Groening not wanting to merchandise alcohol). I bought a few cans of it at one stage but it tastes rank, so there's still a can or two unopened at home.

I'll bring one to the next beers if ye like.

A few years ago, the Drum bar in Galway used to have "Duff Sundays".

It was a marvellous way to drink off a hangover; the footy on the telly, followed by the Simpsons. They had a "Duff" cover that went over the Carlsberg tap (which was sold for €3) and you got free Dominos when the Simpsons came on.

That's all extraordinarily civilised, although The Simpsons has gone so far downhill that I'm not sure it's worth sitting through new episodes, even for free pizza.
