The Vera Duffy Poker Classic - €5000 Added - Wednesday 20th August, Blinkers Casino

It’s that time of the year again when we all get to wish Vera a very Happy Birthday.

To celebrate Blinkers Casino will be holding a fun event which will be a no reg fee and €0 buy in, there will be rebuys allowed for the 1st hour or so at either €10 or €20. Vera’s husband will seriously add a large sum of money (appox €5000) to the prize pool.

There will be a live band which will perform at the start of the evening and during the break.

I post full details regarding structure ect as soon as it is confirmed. Just wanted to post this up so everyone can keep the night free.

If anyone wishes to stay in the hotel overnight please PM or ring me on 087 6448132 as i get a special rate of €65 per room with a block booking of 10 or more rooms.

The band starts at 8.15pm

The game starts at 9.30pm

Buy in = Free Chips 2k
Rebuys = €10 for an hour 2k Chips
Top-up at the break = €20 5k Chips

20 Min blinds for 3 levels followed by 15 min

No pre reg over the phone (unless Vera gives me a name)

Alan Gibbons split it with some other guy,
Martin was 5th.

Great night, great craic, our table started off well with 7 all in blinds lol.

I won €160 playing cash beforehand so allocated 80 eurodollars, which I spent in the first half an hour:rolleyes::rolleyes:. I bought in and topped up so had 7K coming back, and also there was a bounty put on me, so the whole table decided they wanted my head lol

Knocked out shortly after, KJ soooooteeeeed and ran into Queens, lifes a bitch.

I would just like to say a big thank you to JP and the staff, who somehow managed to accomadate all the people, how, I have no idea... The was wine and beer and music, plus a little bit of cards, what more could you ask for.

What a night!!!!

Don't think I ever saw as many people in any of Dublin's casinos as I did last night - well over 400 people there! Never mind the freeroll - the blackjack and roulette tables were well covered during the game! Several people who didn't get a seat left... One player on Vera's table told me at the break that Vera told everyone that the next birthday bash will be in the RDS!!! I like that woman - she dreams BIG!

Was on a cautious table - got a wee bit mad towards the end but not as mental as other tables! Only managed to get 3 rebuys in and one top-up. I was the first to push All-In on my table got only ONE caller! :rolleyes: A5 into K5 and a 55K flop :eek: They were cautious alright!

I outlasted Smurph at least :P that's an achievement in itself!

Great job JP! It was a great event that could have been disasterous if the overflow tables weren't created.

Yeah the funniest sight was Denis (playablehand) the dealer strolling through the casino, hair gel used fully, s*hit cool shades on, ipod in ears, designer jeans, and top and oh yeah "poker table" under his arm. It was bigger than he was.......

But money was taken off the top to pay to 21st.

1st was €3500
Warren Hannigan chopped heads up forget the other guys name. They took €2600 each

Cracking bit of fun lastnight i managed to come 7th in this got €450 for the troubles

had a bit of a trek to get home.

Have to say - it was a great night - and for anyone who missed it - you missed out!

Great atmosphere, and the rebuys were plain crazy...good craic for the 1st hour.....

..... and as someone mentioned, Vera did announce to the table she played.. "next year, i might try the RDS...followed by "ALL IN!" (i may as well... i get free chips...")
