Has apparently forced the Rovers/Sunderland game to be called off. Richmond Road flooding.

Waterfalls get kinda cool in the rain.

It's not. I licensed it from sportsfile and should have stated that in the post - I'll fix that now

    It's been some mad rain.

Here's a few from my area.

This is the local football pitch

It didn't stop the kids trying to play football on the pitch though.

We managed to get our cricket match played in the conditions. Wish we hadn't because we lost the semi final.

the way its going we'll be having our christmas dinner in the sunshine on the decking. what a summer. like a swimming pool here. Was watching the kerry and galway match and they announced over the intercom that jones road was floded and not to exit using it. lucky it was not a full house.

Bring the speedos along with the camera. one of those waterproof housings is looking like a good purchase.

It amazes me that the place floods so easily when the rain isn't that heavy.

Very near the same amount of rain fell in 1986, no mention of global climate change back then. The reason there's so much catastrophic flooding is poor planning and poor drainage, nothing else. Look at Croke Park pitch, zero flooding, it took the same rain as everywhere else.

    Agreed.

Sure the Tolka only floods because it's bed is cemented!
Still though, it was a bit biblical yesterday. Is that the worst of it over?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,839 ✭✭✭Arciphel

I think it has settled down today, althought it was very windy during the night ...

My fave pic from yesterday ==>

Now, you'd think he would be able to drive thru it!

I was in the Park with RoryW & co yesterday on the Boardsies day out to the Zoo. I stayed behind with my wife and kids for the afternoon and got washed out. This was the park as I was leaving.

I'm just glad I don't live in the Tolka Valley apts in Finglas. We had drive up on the path as the Tolka had burst her banks and there was sewage flowing up out of the shores. Ooooh the stench.

Jazus Caban, thats some mess on O'Connell St. Could have sworn I saw some turnips in one of those photo's that that poor lad was trying to pass. They must have washed down from Moore St.:D

You can use that Rainbow/Sky & put an interesting foreground on it.
