Very cheap. Looks great from the ad. Current owner for 10 years with the car on Irish plates. Why no mention of NCT then?

If ever a car needed to be checked by an indy specialist...

To be honest, there's no way I could justify buying a Ferrari at the moment, i'm supposed to be looking for a Volvo V50 automatic! It does look lovely though, doesn't it?

ah yeah but you'll need to have a indy spec. mechanic with you before your heart makes a impulse buy....

The ZS plate makes it, imho.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

I'd agree there. It wouldn't surprise me if this is the only original pre-'87 reg. Ferrari in the country.

Well, the ZS plate dates it to the last month or two of 1986,as the last dublin reg was ZS8709,so it just barely made it in to the old system.Nice looking car,and the number just makes it all the better!!:D

.....oh yeah the ZS plate is cool, though I wonder is the car actually 1986, since pre-87 if you imported a car you got the next reg number despite the year of the car.

Oh and there are a good few original Irish reg Ferrari's pre-87. I know of several 308's and 2 Irish Reg's Dinos.

Looks similar to a ferrari in bray or use to belong to a guy in bray.
If its the one im thinking of it was sold in 2006 for pittance and restored.
Probably is not the same one.

I know this car, if its the same guy who still owns it then he has had it for at least 7 years,he at the time also had a 107 sl and and a few land rovers, its in Inistioge,Co Kilkenny.

What's so good about the ZS plates ( newb question ) ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,269 ✭✭✭MercMad

Just that they were the authentic Dublin reg numbers for the latter part of 1986, making the car original Irish as opposed to having an 86D import plate. Its history therefore would be largely Irish and traceable !

I'm nearly sure I saw this one some time in 1991 for sale in a garage out on the Stillorgan dual carriage way. It used to be by the flyover that goes into Belfield. Come to think of it, I think Lambe and O Connor had it at some stage as well, also around that time. I remember taking a pic of it on the Stillorgan Dualler , i might be able to dig it out. The original irish reg stands out alright.
