Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Jaysus

Did the person they were talking to take it in good spirits? Or the radio station tell them?

Not an easy situation for the presenter to find themselves in!

the presenter didnt really come out of character, he just said "oh im very sorry to hear that, sorry to bother you" then when the call ended the other presenter said "oh my god i cant believe you carried on, as in he didnt say that it was a joke, they promised to ring the guy back and explain though. it was awful!

    True ! !

A well researched prank phone call so.

Whats more annoying is that 98 still chose to air it as the majority of prank calls are actually pre-recorded. Bad taste. Does not make entertaining radio.

Hopefully in the interests of taste and decency, it was staged.

It makes for shock radio which alot of people like and do actually find amusing, as weird as it may be.

Crank calls are painfully unfunny IMO.

Ring a UK company and play the gombeen Irishman, complete with inside jokes.

    Hil-bloody-arious.

The earlier "set-ups", as requested by family/friends/colleagues of the recipient at least had some redeeming features about them.

Any sign of an mp3? It's unfortunate but hardly malicous.

Who's to say the person they had rung wasn't in on the whole thing? :)

Why is morning radio in Ireland so bad..?

    What a horrible prospect.

I think I'd prefer that it was just a really unfunny, badly researched, poorly executed, lowest-common-denominator "comedy" item rather than a deliberately misleading open-ended schoolboy humour exercise in bad taste.

True but it's so obviously a set up. No station making such calls puts them live to air .

    Such a negative thread!

Unfortunate lack of research for the call if it was pre-recorded it shouldn't have been aired.. that's their choice.

    Toll Trolls still rock!!!
