I'm after getting a hicky that I need to get rid off before my mother sees it.

How do I get rid of one?

My advice will be as pointless as the original question...

    Prevention is better then cure,

failing that....bag on head/neck/ wherever it my be!

Arinca cream, you get it in the chemist.

I heard rubbing toothpaste on can help hide them, why do you want to hide it from your mother, she was young once, she may not be as bad about it as you think.

wear it with pride says I!

Doubt a parent will actually care about hickeys.. but arnica is the way to go.

    What's arnica?

Arnica is herb/plant that is made into a gel or cream which can be applied to bruises and speeds up the healing time (a hickie is essentially a bruise). It really does work. A good chemist or health food shop should have it if you go in and ask.

Maybe hit yourself or cut yourself there. Make it look like a bruise rather than a hickie. Say you fell or something hit you there...

If you dont have arnica or concealer then wear a scarf or a polo neck!

Boil the kettle and soak a face cloth in the resulting water. Squeeze the excess water out of the cloth and while it's still as hot as you can bear it, press it really hard onto your neck where the bruise is and leave it there for five mins. Do this a few times a day. Not the quickest method of makin it disappear but it will make the blood recede from the skin surface quicker. Don't burn yourself though.
