I called them and got the model number. Its a 42PFL5522D/05

Which is not a FullHD set.

The specs they put on the website are the wrong ones, they are for a much more expensive set the 42PFL9732D/10 which is currently selling in the region of 2.5k.

I wonder how it would do with the 360, and running games in HD?

Dont touch the phillips tv's. They are awful. Friend has one of those models and it is pants. He now has two 42 inch tellies cause he had to buy another one - it was that bad.

As does my mate and the picture is truly glorious, but there really is two sides to the coin when it comes to Philips, and their cheaper TV's, the ones that Dunnes, Tesco et al tend to stock, are utter crap! I was lookin at a 32" because I was so impressed by my friends 42" but it was like they were from different manufacturers.

Curiosity here, is yours 1080p, as those all tend to be superb!

nope mine is 1080i not that i ever noticed any difference between the ps3 and 360, they both look great. Mine happens to be from tesco although it cost nearly 2k.

I think as far as picture quality goes you need to see the set your thinking of buying playing something. Cause you only have to go into anywhere like dixons and see the difference in quality from the same manufacturers. I do think phillips is a good brand but that dosnt mean theres not a dodgy tv by them out there now and then as with all manufactures.

Just come back from Dunnes and they didn't know anything about it. They are to get back to me as I may actually buy at the lower price. Won't get my hopes up though. Its €999 and €1099 in the local Expert and PC World respectively

This model is definitely in Dunnes Stores in Northside today for €799. I was seriously going to buy one, but I came home to check it out first. Don't know what to do now.
