Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You can't. Even if you put the hard drive in a PC, the data is encrypted. There's no way around it, and discussing possibilities around here is a no no :)

from what ive heard they still have no use for the usb port (kinda like the usb port on the wii so far...)
and same for the 80gb of unusable space on sky+/hd boxes
sky has plans but they sure are taking their sweet time about it

The only way you can do it is to hook up a VCR or DVD Recorder to the Sky+ box. Play on Sky+ box, Record on the other. Excepting Macrovision Box Office stuff.

Is there not a program available to download the FTA programs recorded on Sky+? I remember hearing about that before...or am I just going a bit mad?

There are ways but from what i read it was way to messy so never bothered looking further into it.

It can't be done. Use a FTA PVR receiver with an ethernet/usb or a satellite PCI card in PC.

I can watch/record TV on my laptop, I haven't tried it with the box, but when i get the right connection for the box I should be able to.

True, you can hook up your digibox to your computer and record tv. However, the OP asked if stuff recorded onto SKY+ can be copied off. I'm not aware that it can. ALso, the recordings on the SKY+ box are still encrypted. You still need your viewing card and subs to view recordings.

messy route but I hooked up the +box VCR scart out to my PC which had Scart connections, then just hit "copy" on the box and recorded to hard drive, not that messy I suppose, just the lugging of the pc around the room

    +Extract
This utility will rip chosen free-to-air recordings from Sky+ hard disks, that are directly connected to your PC

It is still possible. You cant drag and drop or anything, but if you hook the box to a PC/Laptop to view TV. From the sky planner set up the recordings you want to copy with the copy function from the planner. Then it will play them back to back to the PC/Laptop, and you can save them there.
