I Need Help Plastering!!

How easy is it to plaster a wall? I have a low budget and i was going to give it a go. The wall is original brick work not a new wall. Hope someone can help Matt:( <snip>

ok well you will not get a good finish if you try to plaster this yourself.
Fix some batons to the wall and then screw (using drywall screws) some plasterboard to this.
Its a million times easier to tape and skim the joints between boards than it is to plaster an entire wall.
