Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just had a chilling thought.

Will the world cup be broadcast in wide-screen?

I know that french tv still broadcasted in 4:3 at least the year before last but not sure if they have caught up with the rest of the broadcast world yet...

As far as I know its 4:3 for SD, and 16:9 for HD, depends on the tv station if they will letterbox 4:3 for us.

    French Broadcasting sucks.

Any HD sources available in Ireland?

From a digital TV techy perspective, ITV1 transmit at a lower resolution and bitrate than BBC1 and ITV4 is lower quality and birate than ITV1 but I don't know how this compares to TV3

The French broadcaster are making a 4:3 Standard Definition feed and a 16:9 High Definition feed available so depending on the kit they have, a broadcaster would have the option of showing 4:3, stretching or pillarboxing the 4:3 to 16:9 or converting the 16:9 HD to Standard Definition.

ITV had a HD trial channel for last year's footy WC but they've now stopped that so I don't think there is any way to see RWC HD coverage in the UK or Ireland... a bit sh!te, really.
