Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where would I get an AirPort (not express, just the basic old one) card? Is it one-size-fits-all-Macs?

AFAIK you can no longer get them from apple direct(or the dealers) unless you have a dead one. Your only recourse is buying one over the web. Try http://www.macwireless.com/html/products/11g_11b_cards/airportcard.php or Ebay.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

ebay is really the only option. Expect to pay over €90 landed no matter where you get it from, unless someone has undervalued it.

If you are using OS X you may want to consider a USB dongle offering. D-Link make some,

Peteer, as I've PM'd you, this is not for me but for an acquaintance who's got an old PowerBook. He's not very Mac-savvy, but knows it's a 15" PowerBook running at 867MHz.

Now, I'm *assuming* that it's an AirPort he needs and that it won't take an AirPort Express. I don't know the actual model. He's away till the weekend so I can't ask him right now to find the manual - not that the manual is likely to say.

I have an Airport base (802.11b) complete & boxed for sale that contains an Airport card inside it. 100 quid if anyone interested.

    No worries,

I'll await your contact. It's the older type of card.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

My acquaintance is back from abroad tomorrow, I think, so I'll be able to take it or not at that stage. If not, the road's open.

Sorry, he's coming back *Saturday*. Damn these odd working weeks, I always think Friday's Saturday.
