Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Right so, time to whip out the sexy rain gear and find your thermal undies.

I'm proposing an evening spin on wednesday 9th of september from 7pm.

Route yet to be decided, but with a warm pub/café en route for warming up in. Suggestions for a spin of up to 90 mins are welcome (plus tea/coffee time in the middle) I'll stick a proposed route up later if noone beats me to it :)

I'd be interested in going, never been on a run before, just me and my 2 friends going up the mountains, i'm getting my new fazer 600 this weekend, jumping from a 125, i'd like to come along, get a feel for the bike, get some advice off you guys, but i'm gonna be taking it slow, trailing behind a lot.

Now that you mention it - you do. :D

I will be there, as long as the weather is not like today.

What is the plan - Where are we meeting? What time? South side route?

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,728 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tree

I'm voting southside (so i can get home faster in teh cold....)

Xios - I have a Fazer and I plan on going. You'll love the Fazer.

Kami - try not to crash.

P.C. - look at the title of the thread. Your not allowed to not go regardless of weather. It's on the rules of the talking tree.

    Tree - I still can't believe it's a talking tree.

    Everyone - Hi everybody!:D

google maps reckons the two bits of route dont actually join up, though i am skeptical. Prolly take an hour, can go in either direciton, stop for coffee in eniskerry or the like

7pm is fine. We should meet from 6:30, than we can leave at 7.

What if we meet here? There is a Texaco petrol station there.

Then we can go along the coast, and come back down into BallyB.
    So, Clockwise around.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,728 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tree

    plan! :)

Bloody pain in the a**e (low level mutters) most people here on southside (more low lever mutters) making me commute!

    Ah hello there!

My awful knowledge of the southside usually gets me lost there, but Ill mosie on over. (mutter, mutter).

It get dark much earlier these nights, so it will have to be a short enough spin!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,452 ✭✭✭thehomeofDob

Wow, might be able to make this! Will see if the girlfriend will let me get away for a few hours. She's on the the southside so I'll be down shankill way anyway.

Actually how about this? A bit different than the usual Wicklow spin clicky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 534 ✭✭✭DonkeyRhubarb

I really don't wanna go to Wickla again. Lovely scenery, but it's a blur.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 534 ✭✭✭DonkeyRhubarb

That's a long one for an evening spin P.C. It's dark by 9 these days. Any interesting places to go and see things? (not lizards). Or does anyone fancy heading out to malahide for coffee? Stuff like that. Just throwing a few ideas out there.

Far as I know it's texaco. Marley is an awkward one to get to for a lot of people, in fact, perhaps everyone! (especialy if your from the northside). Least texaco is kinda the middle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,452 ✭✭✭thehomeofDob

I hope to be there so. :) Can't guarantee it tho, so don't wait.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,728 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tree

Yeah, so meeting in texaco blackrock as per pc's link. Arrive between 6.30-7 to leave at 7, promptly.

Should be to rathfarnhamy direction by nine. you can lash on to the m50 near to there so you'll be able to go home to your norhtside land

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 534 ✭✭✭DonkeyRhubarb

Ach poo poo! Something urgent has come up and I can't make it this evening.

Sorry all, but enjoy the spin.

And remember - Donkeys will eat you alive!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,073 ✭✭✭Xios

hey, i'll be attending, could someone pm me a phone number, just in case i get lost or what not, don't spend much time in black rock, ie. none

I don't when I have to go to work. No other means of transportation so why complain...

But I'm not going to go out for a spin in the wet on purpose!

When you have 170bhp at the disposal of your right wrist you know only dry roads are fun. Either that or I should stick some full race wets! :D
