    SMS costs them nearly nothing.

Voice per Euro Revenue costs them 1/100th to 1/300th of same revenue from Data.

SMS is exceedingly a rip off. Should be 1/10th to 1/50th cost
Voice is somewhat a rip off. Should be about 1/2 cost
Non-roaming data is somewhat subsidized by voice and SMS. Should be nearly double with no higher cap. It can't deliver more.

Roaming of any kind costs almost nothing extra.

Right the industry as a whole charges exorbitant prices for things that are free (or next to nothing)for them to provide like SMS to subsidise other unprofitable parts of the business we as consumers have a big problem. This is really an argument for better regulation of these essential services...

The Regulation philosophy is "light touch" and only concerned with apparent competition based on economics of 18th Century villages, not "added value" for the nation as a whole or individual Consumers. Or regulation of one-of-a-kind resources. Why is my Electricity bill €350? Why with now a mix of people Retailing Gas and Electric, the Gas & Electric is more expensive? Why are ESB selling Gas and Bord Gais selling Electricity? Where is the value to this? Why is Calor and Flogas a duopoly?

This is why the Financial regulation failed EVEN THOUGH they knew that Anglo was in reality practically a Ponzi scheme and Canadians DEFLATING house prices to avoid a bubble and insisting the banks concentrate on Retail Banking rather than "wholesale" speculation aka loan reselling/purchases.

When the music stopped they didn't get loaded with no seat (= Sub Prime Loans).
