Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where to buy or get small hardwood pieces

    Hello,

I am new to woodworking and have built a woodworking bench using a design from finewoodworking.com. I am looking to line the inside jaws of my 9" vice with maple or birch. Anyone know where to pick up 9" x 5" x 1" -3" (thicke the better, as hoping to house bench dogs in outer jaw).

I checked B&Q, Homebase, The pannelling centre in Deansgrange and Chadwicks Sandyford so far with no joy? anyone got any other suggestions of where I could get these small pieces ?

If you know any joiners or cabinet makers in your area, they might be prepared to give you offcuts which could do the trick :)

You could also try laminating some thinner boards together.
