Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not being paid, sole trader options?

This applies to a member of my family.

Joe is employed by a company, and the company is contracted by a larger company to carry out a specific job. So Joe is a sub-contractor I suppose. Anyway, Joe hasn't been paid in 4 weeks. But the larger company has paid the contracting company. So it's Joe's boss who's holding out.

Firstly, what are Joe's rights and what should he do? Wher should he go? Union, Solicitor?

Secondly, Joe tried to set up as a sole trader himself. But the larger company refused to hire him as he can work 50+ hours a week currently but not if he was hired directly by the larger company. Could Joe's wife setup a company and hire Joe? therefore he'll still be a sub-contractor but will now be in control of his own income, or at least his wife will.
