    My sister studies Medicine in Dundee.

    Why?

    * Free fees for EU students who are not resident in the England, N. Ireland or Wales
    * One of the best teaching hospitals in the UK - leading centre in cancer research
    * Very affordable living expenses
    * Ryanair/aer lingus
    * Entry requirements - she would not have gotten enough LC points in Ireland, but scored very highly in the aptitude test for UCAS (before Ireland had them) and her place was conditional on 4 As and 2 Bs for Dundee.
    * International student/good living experience/away from home

    Hard parts
    * Away from home
    * Some universities still want perfect scores (Queens, Kings etc.)
    * In England and N.I. fees have to be paid
    * Living expences vary by city and location
    * Dundee in particular - none student parts are a bit of a kip
    * Irish students dont qualify for student loans
