    Seriously OTliddy, plonk is right, you do deserve a medal for getting the 142 one. There were not many solutions to that one I don't think.

    For 787, I can find 791 (four in the other direction), but nothing closer than your three. (((25+1)/2)+100)*(2+5)=791

    As for the other one, only 918 so far...

    (100 + (25-1)/2) * (5+2) = 784.

    (100 + 25/2) * (5+2) = 787.5 :) (.5 away :))

    (75 + ((6-1)*8)) *(5+3) = 920 (1 away)
