the existing roundabout at the junction of Tandy’s Lane and the R120 Newcastle Road is to be upgraded to a signalised junction this summer.

busy junction in the mornings on the route heading towards newcastle. could the lights make it worse? at least now with all 3 roads leading into that roundabout, vehicles usually let each other in.

outer ring road should help, but that's probably not opening this year?

thats going to make things a hell of a lot worse in the mornings. i work in superquinn on the newcastle road and see the traffic every morning and its got worse every day over the last 2 years, granted its reasonably calm at the moment with no school runs but come september its going to be a disaster, should just leave it the way it is!

Yep unfortunately the ORR isn't due to open until next summer. Newcastle Road will continue to worsen till then. However the junction you refer to will become a very important route for accessing Adamstown as the town develops so the signalisation of the junction is prolly a good idea.
