Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Tip: In the absence of Land Commission Records...

The Land Commission were ultimately charged with the sale of lands to tenants at the end of the 19th century and their records could reveal who was owning what in a given time frame as well as how much they purchased their holding for etc.

Sadly their records are languishing in a big warehouse in Co. Laois.

Luckily the UK parliament documented progress reports that detail right down to the tenant on how the scheme was working.

The National Library has access to the parlimentary papers online repository and I'm sure many libraries and academic institutions do too.

Check out: http://parlipapers.chadwyck.co.uk/marketing/index.jsp if you're in the NLI and try searching for the townland. Attached is an example of some of the information I've been able to glean.
