    Hi

Apologies if this topic has already been covered. My sister recently changed her broadband to Eircom. Since changing they have been unable to get an online connection with PS3. Going through the menus it asks for the WPA key. When the WPA key is entered it still does not work. Any suggestions on how to fix this. It has been suggested to change the modem settings to WEP. Is this safe? and if so how do we do this? Laptop works fine with WPA. Wireless connection by the way.

    thanks

    Paula

You just need to choose the "Make new internet connection" option from the PS3's settings menu.

From there, it is a step-bystep process on stablishing a new connection (step one: Wired or Wireless? step two: WPA/WEP ? etc).

I am almost positive WEP is the standard option on my PS3 (the one I have been using).

Use WPA over WEP. WEP is not secure.

Edit : WPA isn't secure either but more secure than WEP.
