I know a girl called Dorcas - not the worst name out there.

Assumpta conjures up victorian parents poisoned by their mentally deranged attic children imo. Cornelius is a planet of the apes name - full stop and parents will go to hell for Anel its just a bad bad name.
Probably worth a good old chuckle in the park on a sunday afternoon but the mental damage has got to be substantial.

My aunt gave all eight of her children the second name "Mary". Including the two boys.

Ha, Ha! How would you ever give out to that child. "Go to your room Princess" "Princess stop hitting your little sister" The woman deserves all the **** that child is going to give her.

I remember a nun from my convent school days, she was called Immaculata.

Some weird parents, for reasons of "snobbery", give their kids strange names. When these kids go to school, they may as well have a sign round their necks saying "Beat the sh1t outta me."

A person I know of has named her children Rupert, Velvet and Octavia.

Wrong, a great aunt of mine is called Consepta, although it's always been 'Septa.
Some woman who used to work for my mother years ago was called Assumpta.
Neither are nuns or have much else to do with the church, barring being born in catholic Ireland at a time when it was fashionable to call your child that.
