Entitlement to dole

I'm an irish citizen currently working in an other EU state and will unfortunately lose my job in November. I will be entitled to the dole here and am wondering if I return to Ireland will I be able to claim dole in Ireland despite having not been resident in Ireland for several years?

I think its once your out of the country more than 3/3 half years you wont be entitled to jsb....If its less than 3and half years you would of had to of worked more than 13 consecutive weeks to be entitled to jsb...

yes, but if I am already on the dole in another EU country is it not possible to "transfer" dole benefits?

If you are on unemployment benefit in another EU country you can transfer that payment to Ireland for up to 78 days. One of the conditions is that you will have to register in a sw office in Ireland within 7 days of your return and be actively seeking work. You will also have to sign on in Ireland every month for the duration of the transfer.

You have to be in payment for a month before you can transfer payment.
