Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Delays continue after Aer Lingus work stoppage

    Aer Lingus passengers on most flights from Dublin Airport continue to face delays of up to two hours following a stoppage by clerical staff this morning.

    At 6am, 100 clerical staff were instructed by their SIPTU shop stewards to leave their posts and attend a one-hour meeting.

    It is understood the dispute centres on staff being asked to work both on check-in and boarding flights. Aer Lingus said the stoppage was held without notice or authorisation by the airline.

    Transatantic schedules were not affected, except this evening's 5pm flight to New York. All other Aer Lingus flights were delayed for between one and a half and two hours.

    The union said there will not be any further disruption this weekend pending a meeting with management on Monday.

    Aer Lingus is advising passsengers to arrive at check in as normal.

    The airline is advising people to turn up as normal for their flights and to expect delays of up to one and a half hours.

    These "union meetings" without notice should be regarded as wildcat strikes and fines imposed by the courts.
