Turned on my Laptop today and there are green stops all over the screen.
Any idea what caused it and how to solve it

Sounds like dead pixels :( Depending on how many there are, you might be entitled to a replacement. If there re only two or three then they may be within "acceptable limits" defined by the manufacturer.

    It is what it's.

It could be artefacting usually caused by the vram on the graphics card being fried/dodgy. If that's the case it's fooked.

Edit: If it's small dots, then it would more than likely be a stuck/dead pixel. If it's bigger spots then that would be artefacting.

    Thank you for your replies.

Is it possible to replace this on an Acer Aspire 1640 and would it be expensive?
