general experiences in cape cod?

myself and my girlfriend are thinking of going to cape cod during the summer as part of a trip down the east coast. has anybody been to cape cod and know what areas are good? also any advice on accommodation would be helpful cos it seems expensive to me and we are students. cheers ste
