Do Men Lie More Than Women?

I just heard on the radio about a survey that concluded that men lie more than women.

In my own experience, I would say that this is true - my missus is a lot more honest than me & simply can't lie... well, she can, but rarely does & when she does it's about trivial things like "I've had this dress for ages" (even though I can see the price tag) & "Are you sure there's no biscuits left?". And even then, her face is always a dead giveaway!

So what do you think - is it true that men lie more than women, or could it be that the men who filled out the survey were just being a lot more honest about how much they lie?!!

The reason men come out on top with lies is because of the amount of times they get asked questions like -

'Does my bum look big in this?'

or

'do you think she's pretty?'

Bah, these surveys annoy me. There'll be one next month that says women lie more than men. IMO, it comes down to your character and your upbringing, not your gender.*

*And that's the truth. Has to be- I'm a woman.

According to The Mirror men lie about 3 times a day, women fib twice a day. Yeah, women are only fibbing.

No idea really. I think women might be more likely to lie in order to save a friend's/OH's feelings maybe? At least that's what I lie about. But I'm brutal at it, for some reason my face goes completely red when I say something untrue.

My pschology lecturer said that it is not based on gender and that it is 50/50.

On average we lie twice a day as well, depending on who you meet of course.

Men mostly lie because:

1. It's easier than having a full blown conversation.

2. Make their penis/ego bigger.

3. We've put something where you don't want us to put it and don't want you to find out.

I remember reading about a survey that gender has nothing to do with how much you lie but that women are far better liars than men. Same with cheating apparently.

Telling white lies can be just another way of avoiding long winded situations or issues that are hard to explain .

i have only ever come into contact with two complete liars. these people wouldn't lye straight in a bed. one is an ex. one is going out with a friend. both male.

they make stories up like, totally fabricate them from scratch.

whats the fcuking point?

i'm sure there's women like that, i just haven't met one yet.

I wouldn't have a clue, but I would say that a man will lie a lot easier than a woman.
Males seem to be able to do it so effortlessly. Women would probably regret it
more than men.
